Metallica to Release ‘Garage Inc.’ as Part of Vinyl Reissue Series

This week, Metallica announced that the Big Four — which is themselves, along with Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer, duh! — will play Fiera Open Air Arena in Milan, Italy on July 6.

Additionally, the band will close out their vinyl re-issue series with a final set of three albums. ‘Garage Inc.’ is the first of the final three and will be available in the official Metallica store beginning today. It will be available at record retailers on March 1. The record won’t be available anywhere else until March 28, to so America is special and goes first.

‘Garage Inc.’ will be available in two packages. Because the original was released as a double disc, the vinyl versions will include a three-disc, gatefold package for the 33 1/3 RPM version, and as box set with six discs for the 180 gram, 45 RPM deluxe version for all your collectors and physical product nerds.

All the music was half-speed mastered from the original analog tapes at Bernie Grundman Mastering in Hollywood for supreme audiophile quality.

‘S&M’ is up next for the re-release. It’s due in April.
