Music: Newswire: Screaming Trees releasing “lost” album

Tis the season for 90s cult-band reunions, but Screaming Trees is resisting the call, recently announcing in a statement that there are no plans for a reunion, as the band members are finally well-adjusted adults who actually get along with each other and have happily moved on with their lives.” However, Screaming Trees will be releasing a new album of sorts called Last Words: The Final Recordings on Aug. 2 via drummer Barrett Martins label, Sunyata Music, says Pitchfork. The grunge band recorded Last Words in 1998 and 99 at Stone Gossards studio, and the songs were finally mixed by Seattle music legend Jack Endino. Along with the usual band of Trees, Peter Buck of R.E.M. and Josh Homme of Queens Of The Stone Age (who gigged as Screaming Trees tour guitarist at the time) play on the record.
