Promo Review: Walsh & Coutre vs. Darin Epsilon ‘Detour on 44′ incl. Dousk, Cid Inc & Lanny May remixes (Perspectives Digital)

Acutely engaging deep progressive house is what youll hear when you crank up the volume on the next release from Perspectives Digital. Chicago based producers Chris Walsh and Jeremy Coutre team up with label boss Darin Epsilon to conjure up a moody slice of high-performance electronica.

Detour on 44s opening arrangement of solemn kick, shuffling hi hats and snares combined with perfectly engineered tech fx and plenty of reverb create a groove nothing short of mesmerizing. Wrap this around a sonorous, sidechained bass and further boisterous beats and you have an edgy progressive mover with all the hallmarks of Chicagos finest.

Chopped vocals and spacey synths pave the way for an epic blow-out with piercing, elevated pads and synthlines ringing out over the top end to culminate in an exhilarating sci-fi infused, electro-synth lead. Awesome and then some.

Options couldnt be better with three fine remixes in the package. First up is Greek producer Dousk whose mix starts out lighter on the percs but soon shows some high-octane mettle with a weighty bass and plenty of bottom end action. Sheers touches of melody could deceive you into thinking this is going to be a gentler interpretation of the original. Buckle up and wait for the drop – phenomenal!

Next up, Finish producer Cid Incs rework is no frenzy. Chilled beats and misty pads give this glossy production a relaxed air seasoned with gently chiming melodies and an honest, enduring groove.

Finally Berlins finest Lanny May folds a glitchy intro into beefy electric-guitar chords. Pitch-bent synths woven with fx and a bubbling hook give this remix a somewhat futuristic, leftfield sheen.
